Sebastian in her laboratories at the Department of Physics, Maxwell Centre, Cavendish Laboratory, J J Thomson Avenue, Cambridge CB3 0HE, UK, and will involve travel to international high magnetic field laboratories.

Applicants will have a PhD in Physics or equivalent scientific background. Considerable experience is expected in performing low temperature transport measurements under applied pressures in hydrostatic conditions above 20 GPa using diamond anvil pressure cells. Candidates should have an understanding of correlated electron physics and knowledge of cryogenics. Applicants are expected to be resourceful, independent, have teamwork abilities, good communication skills and be able to manage their own workload. They are also expected to have experience of working in close collaboration with researchers in a range of scientific domains.

Fixed-term: The position is available from 1st December 2019 and is for 24 months in the first instance.
