Possible applications can be found in rehabilitation, entertainment, and human-machine interaction.

The doctoral student will work on both discriminative and generative machine learning methods to analyze, predict and generate movement patterns, typically using visual data, but also data from other sensors, such as accelerometers. The goal is to extend the time horizon over which human movement can be predicted and infer things such as an individual’s emotional state from his movement.

The student should have a strong interest in machine learning, a good understanding of mathematics and computer science, and preferably an interest in collaborating with participants from various application areas.

In order to succeed as a doctoral student at KTH, you need to be goal oriented and persevering in your work.
