Part of the Integrative Physiology Group. The group covers a broad area of research related to metabolic, cardiovascular and muscular adaptations to exercise. We focus on performance and health-related benefits of exercise as well as anti-doping issues.

The group uses complex human models and advanced molecular techniques to study integrated and isolated effects of exercise, exercise training and ergogenic substances related to the regulation of muscle metabolism, angiogenesis, blood flow, insulin sensitivity, ion transport, fatigue, temperature balance and bone mineral density.

We focus on physiological mechanisms behind observations and conduct studies in which the results can be applied to the everyday life in groups of patients, healthy individuals of different ages and athletes. http://nexs.ku.dk/english/research/units/integrated-physiology/ Project description
