The Open University's Centre for Policing Research and Learning (CPRL) which works in close collaboration with 20 policing agencies and more than 50 academics at the Open University, has an ambitious and innovative programme to create and use knowledge to improve policing for the good of society through education, research and knowledge into practice.

We wish to appoint a Senior Research Fellow/Research Fellow to work as part of CPRL. This is an exciting opportunity for a researcher to join an exciting and impactful initiative The post-holder will be based in CPRL, which is supported jointly by the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (Social Sciences scholarships) (FASS), and will work with academic staff from across the entire University. The Research Fellow/ Senior Research Fellow (grade dependent on skills and experience) is a two-year post which will conduct high quality research relevant to policing on a project called "Mobilising Change in Police Learning & Development (L&D)" and forms part of the CPRL team. The project is undertaking action research to enhance the further professional development of the police workforce through improving the quality of police learning and development departments across the UK (UK scholarships) policing. This project has already started so the post-holder will join an existing research team.

Do you have a degree or relevant experience in a topic relating to operational or organizational development in policing, public management, organisational change, learning and development among professionals, and technology- enhanced learning?

Do you have research design and analysis skills, ideally both quantitative and qualitative ? Are you capable of taking responsibility for your own elements of work within a team framework and work to agreed quality and deadlines? Have you had experience of taking a leadership role on a research project (Senior post)? What you get in return
