Research Assistant at University of Cambridge

University of Cambridge, UK is offering postdoctoral researcher position in early childhood education. Applications should be sent before May 17, 2020.

The Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge wishes to appoint a part-time Research Assistant (0.5FTE), to work on a collaborative project between the Centre for Research on Play in Education, Development and Learning (PEDAL) and the Early Intervention Foundation (EIF), funded by the Nuffield Foundation. A multidisciplinary team of experts will use a systematic approach to identify the common elements of the most effective programmes that enhance children’s cognitive and social-emotional development. The team will use this data to develop a guide, in collaboration with early years practitioners, on everyday practices, routines, strategies and behaviours that can support children’s skill development.

The post-holder will contribute to the coding of early education manuals and the production of the practitioner guide. The successful candidate will also support our stakeholder engagement activities and the organisation of meetings.

Applicants should have at least an undergraduate (fully funded undergraduate scholarships) degree in Psychology, Education or a related discipline and a high level of technical and IT skills. The postholder will be highly organised and ideally have experience of working in UK (UK scholarships) early education with young children.

Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates from a BME background, who are currently under-represented in the Faculty.

Please ensure that you upload a detailed curriculum vitae and a letter of application indicating how you would contribute to the responsibilities of the post.
