Postdoc Position in Recirculating Aquaculture Systems at Technical University of Denmark

A new opening postdoc position in sustainable development is available at Technical University of Denmark, Denmark. The funds for this fellowship are available for three years. All candidates regardless of citizenship are eligible to apply before May 01, 2020.

A 3-year Postdoc position is now available at DTU Aqua, Section for Aquaculture in Hirtshals, Denmark. Dedicated candidates are encouraged to apply for the position, which will focus on water quality in aquaculture, and monitoring, assessment, and control thereof. The position is available from August 1st, 2020 or according to mutual agreement.

Research focus will be within water quality in aquaculture systems, primarily recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS). In particular, effects of components and water disinfection on water quality and biofilm will be investigated.

We expect the candidate to have practical experience and theoretical understanding of general water chemistry as well as of chemical and microbial processes related to aquaculture. The candidate is expected to have experience with designing and conducting experiments in the lab, and to be open-minded for field trials and applied research in collaboration with the aquaculture industry. Expertise on characterization of water quality and biofilm processes and knowledge of recirculating aquaculture technology including treatment processes will be an asset.

Qualifications The candidate must have: In addition, experience with fish farming, RAS, and/or modelling will be considered an asset.

Furthermore, the candidate needs to hold a valid driver's license

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed on with the relevant union.

The Postdoc position is a contract time limited position for three years.
