Postdoc Postdoc Position Reservoir-condition Multi-phase Fluid Experimentation with X-ray Imaging and Analysis

Imperial College London is offering postdoctoral scholar position in geometry. This fellowship is last for 2 years and posible to extend. Potential candidates should apply before March 26, 2020.

Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to join a multidisciplinary research group investigating core and pore-scale mechanisms during hydrocarbon injection in the subsurface rock. This project is sponsored by a major oil company and aimed at better understanding of oil displacement in sandstone and/or carbonate reservoirs as a function of wettability and pore geometry and topology.

We have established a new imaging laboratory with state-of-the-art reservoir-condition flow loops with in-situ monitoring through micro-CT and medical-CT scanners that will be used for imaging and studying multi-phase flow during oil injection in sedimentary rock. We would like to receive applications from candidates with interests in X-ray imaging, image analysis and reservoir-condition experiments.

This is a fixed term position for up to 2 years.

Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as a Research Assistant within the salary range 35,477 – 38,566 per annum

Informal inquiries about the position can be made to Dr. Branko Bijeljic or Prof. Martin Blunt by e-mail and b.bijeljic@imperial.ac.uk and m.blunt@imperial.ac.uk. Further information about the department can be found at www.imperial.ac.uk/ese.
