Postdoc Position in Mathematics at Imperial College London

Imperial College London is offering postdoctoral scholar position in mathematics. This fellowship is last for 36 months and posible to extend. Eligible candidates should submit the applications before March 10, 2020.

Applications are invited for a Research Associate position in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London. The position is funded by the European Research Council. You will be working on the Stochastic Transport in Upper Ocean Dynamics (STUOD) ERC Synergy Grant 2020. The STUOD project aims to deliver new capabilities for assessing variability and uncertainty in upper ocean dynamics.

You will take the lead on developing numerical experiments to test new theories related to the STOUD project. In addition, you will be involved in the theoretical development of variational models of ocean dynamics and rough paths. You will also have the opportunity to develop an independent research project related to the topic of this grant.

You must hold a PhD (or equivalent) in the area of Stochastic Analysis in particular in the theoretical analysis of solutions of Stochastic Partial Differential Equations.

You must also meet the following essential criteria

The position is fixed-term for 36 months. The expected start date is 1 April 2020. Please note that the maximum salary on appointment can be 40,215 per annum.

*Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as Research Assistant within the salary range 35,477 – 38,566 per annum.
