PhD Scholarship Opportunity at Monash University

Monash University is pleased to invite applicants to apply for a new opening PhD position in molecular biology. Applications are invited up to March 01, 2020.

Duration: Three year fixed-term appointment with a possible six-month extension

The Ellisdon Laboratory invites applications for a PhD-position aimed towards elucidating the structural and functional attributes of the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) in cell growth and cancer. The candidate will learn cutting-edge structural biology techniques including single-particle cryoEM, protein crystallography, and crosslinking mass-spectrometry.

1) Applicants must have completed at least a Bachelor's degree (Honours) in biomedical science or science, with a strong understanding of biochemistry and/or chemistry

2) An excellent academic record, equivalent to a H1 or First Class Honours Degree

3) Good written and oral communication skills and an ability to work in a team environment

4) The applicant should have knowledge in the following areas: molecular biology, protein purification and structural biology
