University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, USA is offering postdoctoral fellowship position in organic chemistry. Applications will be evaluated on a continuous basis.

The Freeman lab in the department of applied physical sciences is accepting applications for two postdoctoral fellows. The position includes direct participation in collaborative research projects and contribution to publications and grant proposals.

Key qualifications include a PhD in Organic Chemistry and/OR equivalent experience and demonstrated ability in providing technical training, supervision, and mentoring. Projects may be very variable, i.e., requiring work across multiple facilities to accomplish the tasks.


Research - 70% Complete projects/job assignments (as lead and support roles) Contribute to writing papers, grants and complete other funding requirements. Education and Workforce Training 10%

Help mentor and direct graduate and undergraduate students. Train new users on variable equipment and methods in the lab Safety & Maintenance - 10%

Ensure compliance APS activities with Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures. Keep the synthetic and characterization facilities in the lab operational. Maintain equipment calibrations where necessary. Outreach - 10% Communicate effectively with collaborators from other UNC facilities (e.g. CHANL) or external facilities at other local university partners and institutes (e.g. Duke, NCSU, RTI) is essential. Participate in APS outreach activities Participate in video tours of facilities and processes
