Postdoc Position in Plant Systems Biology Group Locke

University of Cambridge, UK is offering postdoc position in developmental biology. Applications are welcome before January 26, 2020.

Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Research Associate position in the group of Dr James Locke at the Sainsbury Laboratory, to carry out fundamental research in the field of plant systems biology. The project will focus on using microscopy to study dynamic gene regulation during plant development. The project requires both experimental and quantitative skills.

Applicants must have or be close to completing a PhD in Plant Development, Systems Biology, Biology, Physics, or related field and have expertise in experimental systems biology, preferably with some experience of modelling regulatory networks.

Successful candidates will have advanced knowledge of, and experience in systems biology approaches such as single cell time-lapse microscopy and assays for gene expression, with also preferably some experience of modelling genetic networks using Ordinary Differential Equations. Experience in Matlab or an equivalent software package is desirable. Publications in the field of systems or developmental biology are required.

Good communication skills are essential as the post holder will need to work well in a team and collaborate with other researchers in the Institute. Candidates should also demonstrate a history of science communication (e.g. presentations, outreach activities, teaching).
