Postdoc Position at University of Cambridge

University of Cambridge is pleased to invite applicants to apply for a new opening postdoctoral researcher position in molecular biology. This fellowship is last for 4 years and posible to extend. Applications are invited up to January 12, 2020.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist to join the research group of Professor George Vassiliou at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (https://www.stemcells.cam.ac.uk/vassiliou) and the University of Cambridge Department of Haematology, based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

Our laboratory studies the preclinical evolution, molecular pathogenesis and treatment of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and related cancers. The aim of this project will be to investigate the molecular basis of newly identified genetic vulnerabilities of myeloid malignancies and evaluate their therapeutic potential.

You be highly experienced in molecular biology and have an understanding of the biology of normal and malignant haematopoietic or other stem cells. Previous experience with CRISPR-Cas9 or other genetic screening platforms and/or the study of genetic vulnerabilities of leukaemia or other cancers would be an asset.

The position will be funded by a Cancer Research UK Senior Fellowship awarded to Professor George Vassiliou.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 4 years in the first instance.
