University of Michigan, USA is inviting excellent candidates to apply for a postdoctoral researcher position in developmental biology. The initial contract for this position is three years. There is no application deadline for this position.

Interested candidates should send a cover letter, updated CV, and contact information for two references via email to Professor Anthony Vecchiarelli ( with the subject POSTDOC APPLICATION.

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Anthony Vecchiarelli in the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB). Our lab studies subcellular organization in bacteria using interdisciplinary approaches, including microbiology, cell biology, biochemistry, and biophysical approaches such as cell-free reconstitution and imaging. Our current focus is understanding the ATP-driven spatial organization of membraneless organelles in bacteria. We are specifically interested in the subcellular organization of cyanobacteria and their carbon-fixing organelles called carboxysomes. See our recent eLife paper for details. An exceptional candidate will lead their own independent project, develop new ideas, be familiar with the literature, and participate in procurement of funds, where appropriate.
