Research Assistant/ Associate at Imperial College London

A new postdoc position in condensed matter physics is available at Imperial College London. Successful candidate will have funding to work and study for 36 months in UK. Candidates are welcome before October 22, 2019.

The group of Dr Lorenzo Di Michele at the Department of Chemistry of Imperial College London is looking to recruit a postdoctoral researcher (PDRA) to carry out experimental work at the interface of DNA nanotechnology and bottom-up synthetic biology, as a part of a project recently funded by a ERC starting grant (NANOCELL - A DNA nanotechnology toolkit for artificial cell design).

In this role, you will develop artificial-cellular systems based on (multi)functional DNA nanostructures and membrane-based compartments.

You will be expected to work independently and oversee the activity of PhD and master students in the group on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate should hold (or be about to obtain) a PhD in soft condensed matter physics, physical chemistry or a related discipline.

Duration: 36 months in the first instance
