Postdoctoral Researcher in Cellular Immunology and Glycoengineering

Technical University of Denmark, Denmark is offering postdoctoral researcher position in biotechnology. The initial contract for this position is 3 years. Applications are invited up to November 10, 2019.

The Section of Protein Science and Biotherapeutics at the Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine has an opening for the position of an experienced postdoctoral researcher. The position will be available from August 2019 or soon thereafter.

Successful applicant will work within the newly established research group 'Glycoengineering and Innovation' headed by Professor Steffen Goletz and is partially funded by a NNF Strategic Award.

In our research group, we apply and develop advanced glycoengineering technologies to elucidate the role of glycosylations in complex immunological networks and use these for identifying novel drug targets and generating novel drug candidates and therapeutic strategies. Our focus lies within glycoimmunology, microbiome glycoengineering, glycomic and glycomimetic display systems as well as molecular and cellular glycoengineering, antibody and glycoprotein-engineering, phage display technologies, and mammalian bioprocess engineering.

Cellular and molecular glycoengineering of immune cells and molecules for elucidation of complex glycoimmunological networks and the role of carbohydrates for generation of new therapeutic strategies and targets using cellular immunological approaches, complex antibody and Ab-fusionprotein engineering, molecular and cellular glycoengineering as well as proteomics.

Applicant should hold a PhD in a life sciences discipline and have performed successfully as a Postdoc in cellular immunology (incl. T, DC, NK cells) as well as antibody and cellular engineering, have excellent communication skills and be extensively trained in immunology, mammalian protein expression and purification, cell culture systems, and computational data analysis, and have experience in supervising PhD students. Prior experience with gene editing technologies is not mandatory but would be highly advantageous, and knowledge in 2D - 3D cell culture systems would be a strong asset. The ideal candidate would be also familiar with mass spectrometry based targeted proteomics workflows.
