The National Food Institute (DTU Food) offers a PhD position related to studies of the potential of green biomass as a source of protein for human consumption.

You will be part of the Research group for Microbial Biotechnology and Biorefining at DTU Food. We offer an ambitious, dynamic and sociable research environment with lots of exiting challenges and opportunities.

The successful candidate will be carrying out research in the field of biorefining. The PhD. Position is affiliated to the INNOGRASS project supported by the GUDP. T he overall aim of INNOGRASS is to optimize the protein extraction procedures and test for potentially harmful components present in the protein fractions and the successful candidate will be responsible for process development and interaction with both immunologists, toxicologists and microbiologists, as well as SME partners.

Candidates should have a master’s degree in food technology or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master’s degree in engineering. Candidates are expected to have interest and knowledge within biorefining and sustainable food production. You need to be ambitious, highly motivated, and capable of working independently, and to have good skills within written and spoken English.

The scholarships for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU. For information about the general requirements for enrolment and the general planning of the scholarship studies, please see the
