Lecturer in Childhood and Youth Studies at Open University

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Childhood and Youth Studies to join the School of Education, Childhood, Youth & Sport.

Responsibilities will include; development and delivery of modules and resources in Childhood and Youth Studies as well as contributing to the Faculty's programme of research and scholarship and to the academic development of the Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies at The Open University.

The role will contribute to the planning and preparation, writing and updating of distance learning modules and resource including use of print, audio, video and information/communications technology. This role will also have direct contact with students through a variety of means, e.g residential schools, day schools, conferences.

The successful candidate will have a Higher degree or equivalent professional knowledge in Childhood and Youth Studies or related field as well as expertise within the general field of Childhood and Youth Studies or related field. As well as proven experience of curriculum development and course design and an understanding of other approaches to studying childhood within the social sciences.

Evidence of engagement in research and scholarship through a variety of activities such as publications, gaining of external funding and/or widely recognised and disseminated contributions to learning and teaching in Childhood and Youth Studies is also a key requirement for this role.

Part time hours and job share opportunity may be considered for this role.
