A NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Maria Sandkvist, at the University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, MI to study the type II secretion system of the bacterial pathogensVibrio choleraeandAcinetobacter baumannii.

The project involves genetic, molecular, cell biology and biochemical approaches to investigate the mechanism of extracellular delivery and function of toxins and enzymes including proteases and lipases.

The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree and have a strong background in molecular biology, microbiology and protein biochemistry.

The candidate is expected to be self-motivated and enthusiatic, have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, and should have excellent communication skills and demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications
