The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is one of six departments in the School of Biomedical Sciences. Research and teaching in the department encompasses six broad themes: cell biology, signal transduction, host/pathogen interaction, structural biology, immunology and developmental biology. Our research is highly relevant to major human diseases and pathological processes, including infection, inflammation, diabetes and obesity, developmental and degenerative disorders, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be responsible for undertaking a research project aimed at characterising the role of the serine/threonine kinase TAOK2 and other protein kinases in poor prognosis breast cancers, such as triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) and HER2-positive breast cancers.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing department who have continually improved since inception and contribute to the research efforts by the University. The successful applicant will have a doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline or a closely related field or equivalent accreditation and standing.
