Postdoc Position in Global Health 3 Months Contract

University of Cambridge, UK has an opening postdoctoral fellowship position in public health. Applications should be sent before September 26, 2019.

This is an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher with experience in global health research to work on a new programme to assess the determinants of health and disease in global indigenous communities, including in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. You will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team within the Global Health and Populations Research Group, located in Cambridge.

The post will involve close working with international collaborators to design relevant study protocols to assess genetic, cultural and environmental determinants of health and disease. The successful candidate will also contribute to other global health research projects within the group as required; help to develop scientific goals for related projects and coordinate activities and interact with other members of the group so that goals are met; and contribute to publications or disseminate research findings.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who will be a flexible team player with good communication and organisational skills. They will be able to prioritise their own workload and work to tight deadlines. Excellent computer skills are essential.

A background in medicine, epidemiology, public health or a numerate discipline, and previous experience of epidemiological study design and management and a relevant PhD are essential. Previous experience of managing epidemiological studies is essential; experience of such work in Asia or Africa is desirable. Extensive interaction with external collaborators is expected; previous experience of this would be an advantage.
