PhD Scholarship in Machine Learning Applications for New and Improved Property Predictions

At PROSYS research center, where the PhD position will be hosted, we perform fundamental and applied research to develop both the computer-aided tools and the experimental methods that allow us to reach our objectives, which are toput our research, new tools (e.g. process simulation and optimization) and developments into industrial practice in order to develop new and more effective production processes. It is of great importance for us to work closely with industry and many of our research projects build on a close collaboration with one or more industrial partners.

We offer amultidisciplinary PhD project, which aims at researching emerging AI concepts for addressing an important challenge in chemical industry: fast and efficient model-based product and process development. Specifically, this project focuses on combining machine learning (AI) application to complement and improve the accuracy of property predictions models for (bio) chemical systems. These models are crucial in enabling predictive modeling to support both computer-aided molecular design (CAMD) and process design applications in life science industries for process innovation.

Letter of recommendation from your recent academic/industrial supervisor of your MSc project is desirable.
