Substitute Lecturer in Mathematical Statistics at Chalmers University of Technology

The department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology is one of the largest departments of mathematical sciences in the Nordic countries with about 200 employees. The department comprises the three divisions Algebra and Geometry, Analysis and Probability Theory, and Applied Mathematics and Statistics. We are looking for a substitute lecturer in mathematical statistics for a one-year period: from November 1, 2019 to October 31, 2020. For the successful candidate this would be an opportunity to be part of the strong teaching and research environment that is available at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers.

Mathematical statistics with applications mainly in engineering and natural sciences.

Job assignments

The duties consist mainly of teaching in mathematical statistics which will include course responsibility both at bachelor and master level as well as supervision of bachelor and master projects. You will also have the possibility to further develop your research.

Course responsibility includes planning and conducting teaching and examination, being responsible for informing and communicating on teaching, and being responsible for the guidance and coordination of teaching assistants in the course.

Ability to teach in English is a requirement. Ability to teach in Swedish is not required but is an advantage.
