Postdoc Position in Quantum Devices at Imperial College London

Applications are invited for a Research Associate to join our research team in the Experimental Solid State Group in the Department of Physics. This fixed term post is part of a programme of research aiming to build high-performance qubits by integrating low-dimensional semiconductors (III-V, V-VI, and carbon-based) with superconducting microwave circuits. In particular you will be expected to lead the design, fabrication, and measurement of superconducting transmon qubtis with semiconductor Josephson junctions.

The post holder will contribute to independent and original research within the Experimental Solid State Physics Group, submit publications to refereed journals and assist with the administration of the Research Group. You will be self-motivated and be able to work alongside and aid MSc and PhD students. International collaborations with other groups working on materials synthesis and nanofabrication is an important aspect of this project.

You will hold a PhD (or equivalent) in Physical Sciences or a closely related discipline.

*Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as Research Assistant within the salary range 34,397 – 37,486 per annum.
