Postdoc in Bragg Coherent X-ray Microscopy at Technical University of Denmark

Technical University of Denmark, Denmark is offering postdoc position in condensed matter physics. All candidates regardless of citizenship are eligible to apply before August 05, 2019.

We are searching for a postdoc to spearhead the development of a new coherent x-ray imaging technique.

The position is funded by an ERC Starting Grant that aims to use Bragg coherent x-ray microscopy to quantitatively map nanoscale electric and elastic fields inside bulk materials. The project will be among the first to use the new Hard X-Ray Microscopy beamline at the post-upgrade European Synchrotron.

Your main role will be to create the method for reconstructing the 3D lattice strain and misorientation distribution of the sample from full-field x-ray microscopy images. In addition, you will carry out the first experiments to demonstrate the method and oversee its application to the study of nanoscale functionality in ferroelectric and multiferroic materials.

We are a multi-disciplinary group that combines research in optics and condensed matter physics to create unique opportunities for characterizing and understanding structure-property relationships in materials across multiple length scales. We strive to create an open and enjoyable work environment that values creativity, enthusiasm, and collaboration. As a member of the project team, we hope you will encourage and foster these values as you guide and help supervise PhD and MSc students in the research group.

As an integral part of the research group, you will: Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent in a technical discipline (e.g. physics, chemistry, mathematics, etc.), awarded by the position starting date.

All interested candidates irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, religion or ethnic background are encouraged to apply.

. Our staff of 6,000 advance science and technology to create innovative solutions that meet the demands of society, and our 11,200 students are being educated to address the technological challenges of the future.
