A new opening postdoc position in medical sciences is available at Australian National University, Australia. The funds for this fellowship are available for 5 years. Applicants should apply before June 23, 2019.

A unique and exciting opportunity exists to undertake a PhD whilst working on the Master of Applied Epidemiology, Australia's Field Epidemiology Training Program.
The Master of Philosophy in Applied Epidemiology (MAE) is Australia's Field Epidemiology Training Program, run by the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health within the Research School of Population Health for over 25 years. During this time around 17% of the more than 200 graduates have been Indigenous. The Epidemiology for Policy and Practice group, also at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health conducts innovative large-scale research on chronic disease, variation in health and healthcare and disadvantaged populations. Indigenous health research is a major area of focus for the group.
We are looking for an Indigenous Postdoctoral Fellow to undertake a joint position between the MAE team and Epidemiology for Policy and Practice group. The Indigenous Post-Doctoral Fellow will split their time between the working with the MAE team with a focus on strengthening Indigenous engagement (40% of role), and building their own academic career including completion of a PhD (60% of role). To be successful in this role you will have a background in public health and/or field epidemiology, demonstrated interest in research and teaching, excellent communication skills and a commitment to improving Indigenous health. The successful candidate will be required to maintain highly effective relationships with range of government, non-government and community health organisations, and contribute to collaborative research and teaching within RSPH.
