An exciting opportunity exists for a full-time Research Fellow to join an innovative research program within the Department of Physiology.

Specifically, the Laboratory Head is looking for a motivated and talented candidate to conduct scientific experiments on the organisation of the mammalian cerebral cortex, under supervision of their supervision and guidance. This is a critical support role essential for the enduring success of a productive research team.

You will possess outstanding organisational and record keeping skills, high quality written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with independence and as part of a team. We are looking for a candidate who is capable of generating high quality, reproducible data for publications and presentations. You must be able to set up equipment, contribute to design and conduct and troubleshoot experiments with a level of independence.

Additionally the successful candidate will also have a methodological approach to problem solving, the capacity for forward planning and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.

A doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline (neuroscience) or a closely related field is a prerequisite for this position.

The position is initially for a fixed term contract of 3 years. Remuneration is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
