An exciting opportunity exists to join a dynamic research team working on GPCR drug discovery. MIPS is a world-class, multi-disciplinary organisation and the Drug Discovery Biology theme is at the forefront of GPCR biology. The successful candidate will require a demonstrated ability to apply innovative approaches to the study of drug targets. We a looking for a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral scientist to be involved in this drug discovery research program.

The successful applicant will perform a range of research-related activities (including administrative and reporting responsibilities). Working under the direction of Dr Dana Hutchinson, the candidate will be responsible for performing a range of drug discovery research-related activities, with a focus on G protein-coupled receptors.

The successful applicant will have a PhD in pharmacology or molecular pharmacology. They will be experienced in a wide range of techniques including mammalian cell culture, transfection of mammalian cells, imaging techniques (such as confocal microscopy), and a wide range of cellular signalling assays (including BRET/FRET analysis, cAMP measurements, cellular glucose uptake). The successful applicant will work within a dynamic and multidisciplinary team and should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
