Research Fellow Anti-viral Immunity at Monash University

A new opening postdoctoral scholar position is available at Monash University, Australia. Applications are welcome before March 29, 2019.

Everyone needs a platform to launch a satisfying career. At Monash, we give you the space and support to take your career in all kinds of exciting new directions. You'll have access to quality research, infrastructure and learning facilities, opportunities to collaborate internationally, as well as the grants you'll need to publish your work. We're a university full of energetic and enthusiastic minds, driven to challenge what's expected, expand what we know, and learn from other inspiring, empowering thinkers.

Prof. Jamie Rossjohn FAA FAHMS FLSW FMedSci, ARC Australian Laureate Fellow & Head, Infection and Immunity Program, Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute, seeks talented postdoctoral researchers to join his research group to work in the area of protective and aberrant T cell immunity, at Monash University, Clayton campus, Melbourne, Australia.

The Rossjohn laboratory has pioneered the areas of lipid- and metabolite- based antigen recognition and fundamentally advanced the understanding of T cell development and different facets of T cell mediated immunity including MHC restriction, self-tolerance, alloreactivity, autoimmunity, and aberrant and protective T cell responses.

The Research Fellow will be expected to build upon current findings and ongoing research aimed at understanding the molecular interactions and mechanisms that shape T cell responses directed against viral infections (e.g. HIV, CMV, EBV). The applicants should be sufficiently self-motivated to pioneer new areas of immune recognition. Candidates with a promising track record in the relevant areas and a proven publication record in international journals are encouraged to apply.

For more details on the research themes, fellowships awarded and publication outputs see,

Appointment will be made at a level appropriate to the successful applicant's qualifications, experience and in accordance with classification standards for each level.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. Some positions at the University will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.

Your application must address the selection criteria. Please refer to“How to apply for Monash Jobs”.
