PhD Position in Ancient Greek Language, Literature, and Culture, and / or Ancient Philosophy

Key responsibilities

The PhD candidate will work in the Classics Research Programme of the Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society (LUCAS). The Leiden classicists form a lively research community, covering a range of expertise, and with extensive collaboration in the National Research School in Classical Studies, OIKOS. Candidates may apply with an initial research proposal of their own. The research project should be concerned with a topic in Ancient Greek Language, Literature and Culture, and / or Ancient Philosophy.

Terms and conditions PhD project, 4 years (38 hrs per week), starting date 1 September 2019 or sooner. Initially the employee will receive a one-year contract, with extension for the following 36 months on condition of a positive evaluation. Salary rangefrom 2,325 to 2,972 gross per month for a fulltime appointment depending on prior education and working experience (pay scale P,in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).
