Research Assistant / Associate in Computational Modelling of Upper Airway Flow and Transport

Imperial College London, UK is inviting excellent candidates to apply for a postdoctoral position in fluid mechanics. Candidates are welcome before March 05, 2019.

The Salary structure is subject to change effective from 1st April 2019, please see full details on our salary structure reform

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant/Associate (Full-time or part-time) in Biomedical Flow Computation.

The post is funded by the Departments of Aeronautics and Surgery to carry out research on computational modelling of airflow and transport in the upper airways, and to develop pipelines to aid transformation of image and other source data to processed results.

To model the pathologies of interest in this work and to generate useful tools for further clinical application, it is necessary to develop and apply methods capable of transforming clinical data input to processed results, with a well-defined pipeline that can be adapted and used by a variety of technical and clinical staff.

Research Associate – Hold a PhD (or equivalent) in applied computational fluid dynamics preferably applied to respiratory or cardiovascular flow, or equivalent research, industrial or commercial experience.

Research Assistant – Near completion of a PhD (or equivalent) in computational fluid dynamics, preferably applied to respiratory or cardiovascular flows, or equivalent research, industrial or commercial experience.

In addition, the successful candidate will have knowledge of fluid mechanics of transitional and turbulent flows.
