Postdoc Position/project Manager at Imperial College London

Imperial College London, UK has an opening postdoctoral associate position in public health. Applicants should apply before February 24, 2019.

The Imperial Centre for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention (ICCP) is an established Unit within the Department of Primary Care and Public Health that focuses on cardiovascular research, ultimately aiming the prevention of cardiovascular diseases in the community.

One of the main projects the ICCP is currently running is the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Studies Collaboration (FHSC), an international programme involving investigators worldwide, carried out in collaboration with the European Atherosclerosis Society. We at Imperial College are the leading research group and the Coordinating Centre for this project.

The present post represents an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated person wishing to develop a career in project management and to gain experience in international project management, by helping to lead the development of the EAS Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH) Studies Collaboration. The FHSC is a global initiative led by Professor Kausik Ray (Imperial College London, UK) and an international executive and steering committees, and supported by the EAS. The mission of the FHSC is to empower the medical and global community to seek changes in their respective countries or organizations regarding how FH is detected and managed, with a view to promoting early diagnosis and more effective treatment of this condition

The post holder will contribute to the development and expansion of the FHSC collaboration, network and registry, serve as project manager and conduct specialized work assignments in the FHSC project. He/she will guide the FHSC team in the selection and application of most appropriate problem-solving strategies and methods; will provide consultancy on procedures and practices; and will assist the team in recognizing the framework of possible and critical solutions.

You will have a PhD in a scientific subject, or equivalent research experience, management or project management qualification or equivalent experience. You will also be able to communicate information clearly.

The post is full time, fixed-term until 31 July 2020 and is based in the Department of Primary Care and Public Health, at the Charing Cross Hospital in Hammersmith with occasional trips to the White City Campus.
