Postdoc Position in Physical Chemistry with Focus on Perovskite Solar Cells

Applications are invited for a postdoc position in civil engineering to join Uppsala University. Successful candidate will have funding to work and study for 2 years in Sweden. Potential candidates should apply before February 13, 2019.

The Department of Chemistry – ngstrm laboratory conducts research and education in the chemistry field. The department has more than 200 employees and has a turnover of just over 200 million SEK. At the department’s six programs, we conduct very successful research of a high international standard. We have a large number of externally funded research projects, often with international cooperation and we see continued good growth in our subject area. The department has education assignments in engineering and civil engineering programs and master’s programs.

Subject description: The recently developed lead halide-based perovskite solar cell gives very high power conversion efficiencies at a very low cost. However, many fundamental and practical challenges need to be overcome before this photovoltaic technology can be applied in practice on a large-scale.

Thin films and full devices will be investigated using a wide range of methods. The research is performed in close collaboration with several researchers and research groups in Sweden.

Requirements:For employment as postdoc, the applicant should have a PhD exam or an international equivalent in physical chemistry, material science, or equivalent within a maximum of three (3) years before the final application date. The PhD topic must be related to the subject of perovskite solar cells. During certain circumstances, an earlier PhD can be acceptable. Certain circumstances include leave due to illness, maternity leave, in trade unions, etc.
