Postdoc Position at Imperial College London

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral scholar position in endocrinology to join Imperial College London, UK. This position is available for 36 months. Potential candidates should apply before February 18, 2019.

Applications are invited for a Research Associate to join the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, in the Department of Investigative Medicine at Imperial College London working with Professor Kevin Murphy.

This post is funded through a Diabetes UK project grant in collaboration with the University of Cambridge. The post has a broad remit but it will focus on investigating the role of nutrient signalling in the vagal nerve on pancreatic function.

The successful candidate will develop new methodologies and to carry out experiments to understand the effect of nutrient sensing in the vagal nerve on appetite regulation and glucose control.

Candidates must have a PhD in Nutrient sensing or a related subject. Candidates who have not yet been awarded their PhD but have sat the Viva will be considered. Ideally, candidates should have experience of nutritional human intervention studies, particularly randomized controlled trials and experience of laboratory techniques such as cell culture. Applicants should be motivated, well organised and able to work effectively as part of a team.

This post is available full time for a fixed term of 36 months and will be based on the Hammersmith Hospital campus.

The College cannot normally apply for a Certificate of Sponsorship for this post under Tier 2 of the UKVI's Points Based System. Any candidate, who is considering applying for this position and requires sponsorship, must ensure that they are able to obtain permission to work in the UK through an appropriate immigration route.
