Lecturer in Ultrafast Science at Imperial College London

Imperial College London, UK has an opening lecturer position in life sciences. Eligible candidates should submit the applications before April 24, 2019.

We are seeking a scientist with an active commitment to innovative research and teaching. You will be expected to plan, direct and undertake a research programme of international repute in one or more areas of advanced photon science. We especially welcome applicants with strong experimental expertise who can contribute and enhance our ability to develop ultrafast XUV and X-ray sources and apply them to cutting-edge scientific problems. Notwithstanding the above focus, exceptional candidates from any related area of photon science are also encouraged to apply.

You will be part of the QOLS Group and also affiliated to the Photon Science Section of the Department which includes the Photonics Group that conducts applied research in life science, medicine and ICT. QOLS comprises consists of 20 academic staff, 30 post-doctoral researchers and over 50 PhD students and conducts fundamental research into quantum optics and advanced photon science, including development and application of HHG attosecond sources, strong-field science, attosecond and ultrafast science with X-ray FELs and other advanced photon sources. The successful applicant will either complement or enhance these research interests.
