University Lecturer at University of Cambridge

A new lecturer position in linguistics is available at University of Cambridge. Applications are welcome before February 14, 2019.

The Slavonic Section in the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages in the University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint a University Lecturer from 1 September 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. While the area of specialisation is open to candidates whose research is in any area of Russian studies, applications from candidates with expertise in Russian linguistics, history of the Russian language, contemporary culture and language use, or Slavonic philology, are particularly welcome.

The successful candidate will normally hold a PhD in Slavonic Studies and will have a record of, or clear potential for, outstanding research.

The successful candidate will have, or be expected to develop, their own independent research portfolio of world-class research commensurate with the international reputation of the Slavonic Studies Section in the University of Cambridge.

In order for your application to be considered, please upload a covering letter, curriculum vitae including a list of publications and ONE article- or chapter-length research publication, whether extant or forthcoming before the vacancy closes at 12:00 midnight (BST) on Thursday 14 February 2019.

Shortlisted candidates will be expected to give a presentation to a mixed group of graduate and undergraduate students and members of the Department and Faculty prior to interview. Presentations and interviews are expected to take place on, Thursday 21 March 2019 subject to confirmation.
