Weber recently moved to Nanyang Technological University as Singapore National Research Foundation (NRF) Fellow and Nanyang Assistant Professor (NAP). At NTU, he has established a state-of-the-art low-temperature scanning probe laboratory for the atomic-scale nanostructuring of 2D materials surfaces for their application in quantum information processing. Weber’s laboratories and facilities will include a low-temperature (T=4.5K) scanning probe microscope with capability forin-situcrystal growth using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy.
The PI has more than ten years of experience in the atomic-scale nanostructuring of matter for applications in quantum information processing. He obtained his PhD from the Centre for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology at The University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, and worked as an Australian Research Council DECRA fellow at the Centre for Atomically Thin Materials (MCATM) at Monash University in Melbourne, where he remains an Associate Investigator within the Centre for Future Low Energy Electronics Technologies (FLEET).
Weber has demonstrated research excellence with several high-impact publications (incl. Science, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications, Physical Review Letters, Nano Letters, ), invited conference presentations, as well as patents.
