Imperial College London, UK is offering postdoctoral scholar position in mechanical engineering. This position is available for 18 months in the first instance. Applicants should apply before February 13, 2019.

The post holder will lead an experimental programme for investigating the caking behaviour of complex powders, working closely with research staff at BASF. Advanced methods for powder characterisation including DVS and IGC will be extensively used. Experience of characterising porous or particulate materials would be highly advantageous.
Candidates should hold a first degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences and hold or be near completion of a PhD (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience in experimental materials science and engineering, as well as the ability to design new experimental methods and approaches are highly advantageous. Skills with advanced data analysis are also required.
*Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as Research Assistant within the salary range 33,380 - 35,061 per annum.
The post is available immediately. The appointment is for 18 months, with the possibility of extension. The post is based in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London (South Kensington Campus).
