Practice Tutors Senior Leader Master's Degree Apprenticeship

Applicants are invited to apply for a master scholarship at Open University. The funds for this position are available for three years. Applications should be sent before February 01, 2019.

As part of the Open University's rapidly developing degree apprenticeship offer, we are seeking to appoint a number of part-time Practice Tutors to support students on the Senior Leader Master's Degree Apprenticeship (SLMDA), currently only offered in England. Students completing the qualification will achieve an MBA (Leadership Practice) leading to the Level 7 apprenticeship standard for the SLMDA.

Practice Tutors play a vital role in supporting the students to apply their academic learning in the workplace. You will provide learning support for a cohort of around 8 students to progress through the whole of the qualification. You will visit the students in their workplace to conduct regular progress reviews as well as providing online support, and will help the students to build a portfolio of evidence and prepare for the End Point Assessment.

You will also teach your cohort of students on the 45 credit work-based learning module Leadership in practice (BBXY857). You will help students to engage with the online learning materials and mark their assignments during this year long module. This is an exciting opportunity to work with your cohort of students for a period of up to three years and to have a direct impact for individual learners.

You will have a postgraduate degree in business management or a related subject together with experience of teaching and coaching managers in the workplace, experience of assessing work-based competencies and supporting learners to develop evidence portfolios.

The person specification can be found against the module code: XBXY857 for 19E
