University of Cambridge is offering postdoctoral fellowship position in molecular biology. The funds for this fellowship are available for 2 years. This position is closed on February 07, 2019.

Building on our successful recent work, the lab is interested in identifying and characterizing new “synthetic rescue” pathways and druggable regulators that can modulate nuclear envelope function in premature ageing syndromes. Ultimately, this work might yield novel therapeutic angles for these diseases.
This challenging and exciting role will involve the use of molecular biology, biochemical, and advanced microscopy techniques, as well as the latest Crispr-Cas9 tools for genetic engineering and phenotypic screening.
Possess (or be in the process of being awarded) a Ph.D in molecular or cellular biology
Be experienced in a wide range of cell and molecular biology techniques
Have skills in working independently to solve experimental problems
Be highly self-motivated, reliable, and able to accurately judge priorities
As a member of the young and dynamic team led by Dr Delphine Larrieu, currently composed of one postdoc, one PhD student and one Master’s student, you will have the exciting opportunity to play an important role in the team’s development. In addition to benefiting from the lab’s strong expertise in the field, you will also benefit from Dr Larrieu’s recent experience in setting up her own lab to help you mastering the skills required to succeed in a research career.
The successful candidate will join the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research (CIMR) part of the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine. The Institute provides modern laboratory accommodation and state of the art research facilities on the highly dynamic Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years, starting between February and June 2019.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
