Postdoc Position at University of Cambridge

University of Cambridge, UK has an opening postdoc position in computational biology. Successful candidate will have funding to work and study for 3 years in UK. Applications are invited up to February 03, 2019.

Applications are invited for a Research Associate with a focus on computational biology to join the group of Professor Bertie Gttgens at the University of Cambridge Department of Haematology on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The Gttgens group employs both experimental and computational approaches to study how transcription factor networks control blood stem cell function and differentiation. The postholder will apply computational methods to construct models of blood stem cell differentiation, based on comprehensive genomic and cellular experimental datasets.

Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant subject. They must have knowledge of haematopoiesis, stem cell differentiation and cell fate control mechanisms. Experience of constructing mathematical models of haematopoiesis will be essential. Experience in scripting in e.g. R, Matlab, Perl, Python, C, C++, HTML and XML will be advantageous, as is a strong knowledge of statistics.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
