Technical University of Denmark, Denmark has an opening postdoc position in structural chemistry. The funds for this fellowship are available for six years. Applicants should apply before January 31, 2019.

DTU Bioengineering covers microbial ecology and physiology, industrial biotechnology and biomedicine and health. The department consists of approx.30 faculty and more than 80 PhD students and postdocs.
The research area of the position is within fungal ecology, genetics and natural product chemistry witha focusonthe analysisof the interaction between secondary metabolite producing microorganisms.
We are looking for an ambitious mycologist with a broad experience in fungal ecophysiology, genetics and secondary metabolite production.
You will get a unique possibility to work on fungal (and bacterial) ecosystems focusing on how secondary metabolites of terrestrial fungi affect microbial diversity and functionality in both natural and engineered systems.
The position allows you to collaborate with several research groups with expertise in microbial ecology, molecular microbiology, gene sequence analyses and analytical and structural chemistry.
You must be ambitious, well organized, structured and enjoy interacting with many different people includingPhDstudents and postdocs. Also, a good sense of humor will be appreciated.
DTU is a leading technical university globally recognized for the excellence of its research, education, innovation and scientific advice. We offer a rewarding and challenging job in an international environment. TheCenter for Microbial Secondary Metabolitesaims to establish what effectmicrobial secondarymetabolites have on other microorganisms in their natural environment. We have traditionally perceived them as 'competition substances',but in naturalenvironmentsthey are rarely produced in quantities of antibiotic effect. The Center's hypothesis isthat secondary metabolites constitute a network of signal molecules that directly affect gene expression, behavior, and metabolism of the microorganisms and thus play a decisive role in the composition and function of microbiological societies. We will explore this inan interdisciplinarycollaboration with the use of analytical-chemical, bioinformatic, molecular biological, and classicmicrobiologicalmethods.
