Postdoc Fellow at University of Hong Kong

University of Hong Kong is pleased to invite applicants to apply for a new opening postdoctoral fellowship position in social sciences. The funds for this fellowship are available for two years. Candidates are welcome before January 31, 2019.

Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Sociology (Ref.: 493935), to commence as soon as possible for one year.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Social Sciences or other related disciplines; proficiency in written and spoken in Chinese and English; excellence in analytical evaluation and generation of practical solutions; familiarity with quantitative or qualitative analysis in social sciences research; and ability to work independently and as a team. The appointee will assist Professor Pun Ngai in planning, managing, coordinating, and implementing research activities on her Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) project on Social Media and Migration; oversee data collection, data analysis and report drafting; supervise Research Assistants; and perform any other relevant tasks as assigned. There will be ample opportunities to work with research professionals, social media and migration professionals, as well as stakeholders in the community.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
