PhD Scholarship in green biomass as a source of protein for human consumption

The National Food Institute (DTU Food) offers a PhD position related to studies of the potential of green biomass as a source of protein for human consumption.

You will be part of the Research group for Microbial Biotechnology and Biorefining at DTU Food. We offer an ambitious, dynamic and sociable research environment with lots of exiting challenges and opportunities. The position is affiliated to the INNOGRASS project supported by the GUDP and will involve interaction with both immunologists, toxicologists and microbiologists, as well as SME partners.

The overall aim of INNOGRASS is to optimize the protein extraction procedures and test for potentially harmful components present in the protein fractions.

Candidates should have a master’s degree in food technology or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master’s degree in engineering. Candidates are expected to have interest and knowledge within biorefining and sustainable food production. You need to be ambitious, highly motivated, and capable of working independently, and to have good skills within written and spoken English.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience withinside streamsfromindustrial or agricultural production,protein extraction, protein analysis and food formulation.

The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval, and the candidate will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes at DTU. The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The period of employment is 3 years.
