An enthusiastic and ambitious postdoctoral researcher is sought to join the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences at Monash University. The successful applicant will report to the laboratory head, Professor Michael Ryan. The incumbent will have extensive experience in molecular, protein and cell biology techniques, with a passion for mitochondrial biology and disease and/or functional proteomics and systems biology techniques.
The Research Fellow will undertake NHMRC-funded research related to elucidating the functions of subunits in mitochondrial complex I and the assembly of mitochondrial membrane protein complexes. This will include the experimental design, planning, and execution of experiments involving mammalian cell culture, molecular biology and protein biochemistry, as well as interpretation and presentation of data. The incumbent will undertake research in conjunction with students and research staff within the laboratory. Practical experience in computational proteomics is advantageous.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
