Research Assistant at University of Cambridge

University of Cambridge is pleased to invite applicants to apply for a postdoctoral associate position in life sciences. This fellowship is last for 2 years and posible to extend. This position is closed on January 14, 2019.

Applications are invited for a position in the laboratory of Dr. Walid Khaled. The successful candidate will join the Epithelial Tumour Biology group which studies various aspects of triple negative breast cancer and lung squamous carcinoma (Khaled W.T. 2015 Nat Commun, Bach K. et al. Nat Commun 2017 & Lazarus K. et al. Nat Commun 2018).

Applicants should have a strong interest in cancer biology and are expected to hold or obtain shortly, a PhD in the life sciences. They must have demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas: mouse models, cell biology, tumour immunology and/or protein-protein interactions. It is also desirable if the candidate has experience in analysing NGS data such as CHIPseq, ATACseq or RNAseq. The successful applicant will be a careful and methodical worker, accurate and ready to take responsibility as part of a team. They will be self-motivated and able to organise, perform and analyse experiments with minimal instruction. Ideally, they will have several years of previous laboratory experience and be capable of working efficiently and productively without direct supervision. Careful observation and accurate computer-based record-keeping and presentation are essential.

The position is available for 2 years (subject to a probation period) in the first instance and is available from 1st February 2019 or soon thereafter.
