Australian National University, Australia is offering postdoc position in earth sciences. The deadline to apply is January 06, 2019.

The Plant Structural Immunology laboratory at ANU (led by Dr Simon Williams) has a (3) year postdoctoral fellow position available to understand the structural basis of plant innate immunity and fungal pathogenesis. The Plant Structural Immunology laboratory is a recently established laboratory within the Research School of Biology focussed on understanding at a mechanistic level how pathogens cause disease. The appointed postdoctoral fellow will undertake research to understand the interactions between plant pathogenic fungi and crops of agricultural importance. The studies will primarily utilise structural biology, protein biophysics and biochemistry approaches to study, in molecular detail, the interactions between fungal virulence (effector) proteins and plant defence proteins. It is anticipated that this work will lay the foundation for future biotechnology strategies to help control plant diseases.
