Postdoc Position at Imperial College London

Imperial College London, UK is offering postdoctoral researcher position in optics. This fellowship is last for 2 years and posible to extend. Applications are invited up to January 02, 2019.

Applications are invited for two Research Associate positions available within the Centre for Cold Matter, a part of the Quantum Optics and Laser Science Group (QOLS Group), to help produce independent and original research on the measurement of the electron's electric dipole moment using ultracold molecules.

The postholder will be expected to plan and carry out research, write up results for publication and oral presentations, liaise with collaborators within and outside Imperial College, assist in the maintenance of lab facilities and the administration of the research team, and support research students. This project will involve a high degree of teamwork and interdisciplinary research.

- You must hold a PhD in Experimental Physics or have an equivalent level of professional qualifications and experience in a closely related discipline.

- A strong background in Experimental Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics.

- Technical knowledge of laser systems and the control of laser light.

- Experience in laser cooling.

- Experience in the simulation of experiments.

- A strong background in data analysis methods.

- A strong background in the construction of new apparatus

- Experience with data acquisition hardware and software.

Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as Research Assistant within the salary range 33,380 - 35,061 per annum.
