Postdoc Position at Imperial College London

Applicants are invited to apply for a postdoc position in bioinformatics at Imperial College London. This position is available for 24 months in the first instance. Candidates are welcome before January 04, 2019.

We invite applications for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate position from highly-motivated applicants with an interest in the roles of non-coding RNAs in tumour immune activation, DNA damage and therapeutic response in prostate cancer.

You would be joining a dynamic and expanding group, undertaking collaborative and multidisciplinary work with the aim of understanding and combating resistance to therapy in advanced prostate cancer. The role will involve collaboration with laboratories in the UK Oxford University, Institute of Cancer Research and USA (Thomas Jefferson University), offering excellent opportunities to develop skills and networks.

Applicants should be well-organised, self-motivated, able to work effectively as part of a team, and passionate about excelling in biomedical research The successful candidate will hold a First Class or an Upper Second Class degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) and a PhD in molecular/cell biology or immunology, or a closely-related discipline. The successful candidate will hold a full ASPeL personal licence from a UK institution, or equivalent from non-UK institution and will have published a minimum of one research paper as first author in a peer-reviewed publication. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in several of the following procedures: xenograft establishment and manipulation, drug delivery, short-term immune rejection assays.

Experience in a broad range of molecular and cell biology techniques is required, with proficiency in antibody-based flow cytometry, culture of primary human cells and cell lines, qRT-PCR, non-coding RNA functional assays, cell transfection and transduction, RNA sequencing and/or CRISPR-based genetic manipulation highly desirable. Proficiency in basic bioinformatics and statistical operations is also advantageous. The candidate should also be self-motivated, ambitious, well-organised and able to work well in a team. This post is full time and fixed-term for 24 months.
