PhD Position for Synthetic Biology-inspired Therapies

The Biotechnology and Bioengineering group directed by Prof. Dr. Martin Fussenegger at the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering of the ETH Zurich in Basel has an open new position.The Biotechnology and Bioengineering group directed by Prof. Martin Fussenegger at the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D-BSSE), ETH Zurich in Baselis recruiting a Doctoral student (PhD) for a research project in the field of personalized medicine. The project involves developinga synthetic biology framework for engineering islet microtissues from patient-derived pluripotent stem cells.The successful candidateis exceptionally motivated and highly skilled in standard molecular, cell biology and/orhasexperience in cultivating as well as differentiating stem cells. Additionally, we expect an outstanding study record.

Our group uses state-of-the-art Synthetic Biology principles to develop cell-based therapies for cancer, metabolic and autoimmune diseases.
