Research Assistant Centre for Science and Policy at University of Cambridge

A new opening postdoctoral researcher position in public policy is available at University of Cambridge, UK. The funding allows successful candidates to work for two years in the first instance. Applications should be sent before November 27, 2018.

The Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP) works with a unique network of academics and decision-makers in government to improve the use of evidence and expertise in public policy. Our approach is based on addressing the questions which policy makers identify, and on building relationships characterised by mutual understanding, respect and trust. The Centre is administratively anchored in Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS).

The Centre is now seeking a Research Assistant to carry out research under the direction of the Associate Director, to include data collection, analysis and interpretation. The role holder will also provide some assistance to the Policy Fellowships Coordinator in making arrangements for around 70 Policy Fellows per year who visit the University of Cambridge for structured programmes of meetings over up to 5 days each.

You will be educated to at least Bachelor’s degree level, or an equivalent qualification. You will possess breadth of knowledge regarding the potential for research / policy interactions. To be successful in this role you will have sufficient knowledge of research methods, including searching literature and databases. Excellent communication skills - both oral and written, and demonstrating initiative and self-motivation are prerequisites for this role.

The funds for the role are available for one year initially.
